About my Blogging journey
I started blogging online in 2009. My target at that time was 1k to 2k USD/Month.
But unfortunately, I was earning only 15k to 20k Indian Rupees per year. After that I have started another blog and started writing, this time I have a full hand in Content Writing, SEO, E-Mail Marketing and Social Media Marketing. This year my earning with my blog is 40k to 50k per year.
Up-to 2011 I acquire good knowledge in Digital Marketing. But my niche was not in my interest and it is in heavy competition.
In 2012 again I started two more blogs one is Money Connection and the second one is Sure Job. I have implemented all my digital marketing knowledge on these blogs. I got a good response.
Up-to-the end of 2012 I was earned 2000USD, and up-to end of 2013 I was earned 3000USD/Month. In the year 2017, I was earning 20000USD/Month. And in 2018 I was earning 1Million USD/Month.
Thanks to Digital Marketing and Blogging, this is the hottest industry in India to be successful and rich.

If you want to share your ideas, thoughts and experiences with the world, then a blog is the best medium.
Whenever you search for information online, then it will open in a page, and that page contains the information you need. That page belongs to a blog or a website. For example Google, Facebook, Wikipedia, Amazon and BBC News these are all the websites. Yourstory, Quora are the blogs. Basically, there are three types of websites.
Website, Blog or Weblog.
You will find blogs on all popular websites. You will regularly update your blogs in blog category and it appears in reverse chronology, means your new content will be shown aromatically at the beginning of the page and old content in the below.
Usually, there are four parts of the blog page.
1. Header
In this area, you will find your website logo, Navigation and Search bar etc.,
2. Post Area
This area contains your posts, comments, author details, etc.,
3. Sidebar
Here you can put widgets, banners, recent posts widget, affiliate banner and ads etc.,
4. Footer
Here you can add a second navigation menu like contact page, about us page, disclaimer and sitemap pages etc.,
If you go through the navigation menu only the pages or posts will change menu will be same at their place.

How to start a blog?
If you want to start a blog you need 3 major things.
- Website domain
- Hosting
- Platform (theme)
Domain Name
Domain means it’s your website name like google.com, amazon.com and docmediads.com etc.,
The domain name is in two parts first one is your choice and the second one is its extension.
In the first part, you can choose your brand name or topic (keyword). My website is about digital marketing and advertisements.
So that I have taken docmediads as a domain name (keyword). It indicates advertisement and media marketing.
The next part of the domain name is an extension for example .com, in. .org, .net, .info etc.,
If your targeted audience is all over the global then you can use .com, .org. info.net etc.,
If your targeted audience are in India then you can use .in .co.in etc.,
You have to put some effort to choose your domain because all the popular domains name has already booked by the users. You have to do more research to select domain name according to your niche or brand.
Whenever you try to choose a domain name on websites like Godaddy they will offer you more domain names with different extensions as per the availability. After shortlisted of the domain names you can select which you like.
Hosting
Whatever you see on the internet through your computer, mobile or laptop screen, it can be a text or video, audio or an image all these are called file in digital terms.
All these files will be stored in Hard Disks, Memory cards or in other storage devices, and these files can be accessed by you only.
But the videos, images and audio files on websites will be accessed by everyone online. On the internet, all these files will be stored in servers and these servers will be connected.
All your websites images, videos, audio and text files will be stored in servers. Some companies will provide space for users at different prices. These space providers will be called as hosting providers.
After purchasing a domain name you need to a space to live your website, that space is called hosting.
There are different types of hosting plans.
- Shared Hosting (Affordable)
- VPS Hosting (Expensive)
- Cloud Hosting (Expensive)
- Dedicated Hosting (Most Expensive)
When you want to start a blog you can go for shared hosting, which is sufficient for your website or blog.
When you want to start a blog you need a blogging platform. There are lots of platforms on the internet like WordPress, Blogger, Wix, Joomla, Drupal.
WordPress is the best platform on the internet to build a website or a blog. 35% of the websites and 90% of the blogs on internet use WordPress.
WordPress is an open-source content management system on the internet. (Open source means free to use and free to modify)
CMS means software that helps to design websites and efficiently manage important things on your website (without coding and programming knowledge) like Content.
WordPress was introduced very long back and only blogs were made in the earlier. After continues development and contributors involvement, WordPress has developed a lot of themes and plugins which helps in creating blogs and websites.
Now you can create and develop any type of website, e-commerce store, social network platforms and blogs with the help of WordPress themes (without any coding and programming knowledge).
Earlier you had to buy domain and website space from different providers. Nowadays every hosting company selling directly WordPress hosting space and domains.

Once you enter into the Bluehost website to purchase hosting or domain. Just click the green colour button stated to get started. You will enter into the next page which displays the hosting details and price.
Here you will find 3 types of hosting plans.
If you want to host for WordPress, then go back to the home page and click on the WordPress tab which is on the main menu. Here you will see choose plan tab click on it. In the next page, you will find hosting plans for WordPress.
Here you will find 3 types of plans
- Basic – which is very affordable
- Plus – this plan is a little bit costly with different advantages
- Choice Plus – This plan is recommended by the provider because this could be a popular plan.
You can choose a plan whichever is affordable by you. Please check the offers and advantages (domains, space, SSL certificate details each) offered by the provider before you buy.
If you want to own a single blog or website then you can go with a basic plan. But as per my experience, almost every blogger get success with his 2nd or 3rd blog or website. In this case, it is better to buy a hosting plan which can include 2 or more websites.
So, it’s better to take plus plan when you want to start 2 or more blogs in the future. Which costs you little more than the basic plan (always try to choose the recommended plan).
After choosing the plan click on the choose button.
Next page is domain selection page. Here you have to choose a domain name for your website or blog.
Here you can choose your domain name in 3 different ways.
- Personal Name
- Use Keywords
- Make it Brand
1. Personal Name
You can make a personal or professional blog with your name later you can make it a brand.
For example venkat.com venkat.in venkatvavilala.org etc.,
2. Use Keywords
You can use the keyword or combination of keywords.
For example fitmyway.com doctorsinside.com docmediads.com audiencereports.com
3. Make it Brand
You can use a name that doesn’t exist and work hard to make it a brand.
For example google.com flipkart.com rediff.com myntra.com
Choose a domain name which is available according to your niche or brand, and enters that domain in the domain search bar and press next button.
If you are not sure with your domain name or you want to decide it later, then you can skip the domain selecting the option for this just click on “I will create my domain later”
But I have decided my domain name and entering it in the search bar and pressing next button.
In the next page, you have to enter all the details of your account. You have to give details like,
First Name
Last Name
Business Name
Street Address
Country
Email ID etc., details you have to enter.
After entering all the details you have to check package information.
Change account plan to 12 months (if it is showing 36 months by default)
Accept if you are getting SSL Certificate and Domain for FREE.
Uncheck domain privacy, set-lock security code-guard basic after unchecking all these details
Your total cost will be reduced.
You will get the benefits according to the plan you’ve chosen. If you are lucky you will get some more offers from the Bluehost. Accept all the claims to save your money. But remember SSL certificate and the domain is a must.
After selecting the plan and entering the details, you have to enter billing details like credit card number and CVV number.
Accept terms and conditions and submit the form, then you will be redirected to the next page. It will show the status of your purchase. It says your purchase was a success. You will receive an email of this purchase receipt and a welcome letter.
After that you have click on create account button, in the next page it will ask to enter the domain name (it will take by default) after that you have to choose a strong password and you should re-enter it. After all, click on create account button.
Next, it will take to the login page.
Now login into your new Bluehost account with your domain name and password.
After entering into the login page now you have to create a website here.
Register your site name and tagline if you have one. It will ask you like “do you want to create a blog or e-commerce site? You have to go with your option.
Click continue button.
Theme Selection (platform)
Here it will ask for more details about you. After entering the details click continues to theme selection. Here you’ve to choose the theme for your blog or website. If you have any other theme in your mind then you can skip this option.
Then Bluehost will add a temporary website after some time it will add your actual website.
Now, you can choose to add your first blog post, about me page, setup categories or you can import images, logos and other media.

OR
You can go to your WordPress dashboard directly to add a theme or to other modifications to your new site.
If you want to go directly to your site’s dashboard then you have to type your domain name and wp-admin. Then press the enter button.
Ex: docmediads.com/wp-admin
Here it will ask admin and password details to enter into your site’s dashboard. You have to enter the details which you have chosen.
For website ownership confirmation it will send you an email to your registered email id. You have to check the email and click the link sent by Bluehost.
You have completed all the procedure to create a blog. Now you can start writing blog posts.
